ORNAMENTS FOR MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

Altars

Mankind has always built altar to the gods - from stone piles in grave yards, to elaborate temple that soar heaven ward, man seems to need a place to commune with the spirits. Mambo Vye Zo, an American Mambo who took her training in Haiti has created personal altar to the Lwa of Haitian Vodou. With a simple wooden box to begin, she dress, paints and elaborately decorates the box, to show it’s connection to Spirit. Metals, glass, gold leaf and nature items adorn the exteriors. The interiors are hidden worlds, demonstrating their exclusive connections to the spirits through enigma and symbolism. They can be read by those who connect to these worlds, but leave some baffled by their odd or weird crafting. A unique talent, demonstrating a singular vision of the spirits.
